CELEBRATING STREET VENDORS AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE IN THE MISSION
This June Acción Latina and Paseo Artistico, the Mission District’s only free, bilingual, interactive, art walk down 24th St. honors street vendors as culture bearers whose presence and participation in the neighborhood has roots in Native and Latin American moveable markets and helps sustain economic activity for hundreds of local and international families. *Events include performance by Colombian dance group Chekumbe at La Placita vendor market, and Encuentritos live concert at Accion Latina.

12PM Teatro Comunitario directed by Berta Hernandez En Español screen printing and artisan market; presented by Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts Mission St. & 25th
1PM Paola Reyes Melendez creating a live mural about street vendors, presented by Precita Eyes, 24th & Harrison outdoors
2PM Chekumbe Colombian Dance presented by Calle 24 at La Placita, 24th & Capp St.
3PM Poets in the Window featuring Josiah Luis Alderete, Lourdes Figueroa, Hector Son of Hector, and Maria Guerrero, plus vending market in the gallery, Medicine for Nightmares Books and Gallery, 24th & Treat St.
3:30PM House of Jefas at Evolved SF, 24th and Lucky St
4PM Mariachi CMC Ensemble & Mission District Young Musicians Program homage to El Paletero, presented by Community Music Center, 24th & Harrison outdoors
5PM-7PM Encuentritos Concert featuring three live music acts plus vendor market in the gallery, Acción Latina 24th & Alabama
